Logistic dictionary online – letter L

  • LCL / less than container load – a type of sea transport that allows the transport of cargo that is smaller than the entire sea container, the consolidation method is used here, transporting several loads in one container
  • LDM – load meters
  • export license – a document enabling export in accordance with the details contained therein, within a specified period of time
  • import license – a document enabling the import of given products or materials to the country in which such licenses apply. The issuing of licenses depends on government institutions
  • Liczman / tallyman / cargo quantity controller – a person recording the amount of cargo and its status during loading onto a ship or during unloading from a ship
  • waybill – a document constituting proof of concluding a contract for the transport of one quota from a specific place of loading to a specific place of loading
  • air waybill – also known as airway bill, air bill of lading, LLB / AWB
  • LSFS / Low Sulfur Fuel Surcharge – additional fee for the use of low sulfur fuel, in accordance with the Marpol Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment
  • logistyka / logistics – managing the processes of goods and / or people movement and activities supporting these processes
  • LTL / Less than truck load – a term referring to partial load under road transport
  • cargo – transported goods
  • Load / Full Container Load / FCL – load that fills the entire container
  • cargo / full truck load / FTL – load that fills the entire vehicle surface
  • refrigerated cargo / cargo reefer – cargo requiring transport with temperature control
  • supply chain / supply chain – sequence of events in the movement of goods
  • value chain – a sequence of actions taken by organizations to increase the value of the product
