List of logistic abbreviations – letter D

  • D.O. or D / O – Delivery Order – a document ordering the handing over of the transported load to the side specified by the buyer / owner in the waybill. Direct delivery of goods to the warehouseman who issues warehouse receipts
  • D / A – Document Against Acceptance – acceptance documentary collection, consisting of issuing documents in exchange for securing payment by accepting the expiry date by the payer
  • DAF – Delivered at frontier – in international transport specifies the exporter’s obligation to deliver goods to the border location
  • D / N – debit note. A document used to charge the costs and / or fees for services and correct the value of the relevant invoice
  • D / P – Document Against Payment – documentary cash collection. Issue a document in exchange for payment
  • DDP – Delivery Duty Paid – delivered, duty paid. The exporter is responsible for delivering the goods to the destination and covering all costs related to taxes and customs clearance
  • DDU – Delivery Duty Unpaid – delivered, duty unpaid. The exporter covers all door-to-door transport costs, except for customs clearance and customs duties, which the importer is obliged to cover
  • DEQ – Delivered ex quay (duty paid) – the exporter delivers the goods to the border at the destination port
  • DES – Delivered ex ship – the exporter delivers the goods to the buyer at the agreed destination port
  • DGR – Dangerous Goods Regulations – a set of regulations governing the manner of transport and documentation of dangerous air shipments.
  • DSD – Direct store delivery, pl. Direct delivery to stores – delivery of goods directly from the supplier to the store, bypassing the indirect distribution links
  • DIP – Diplomatic mail – diplomatic mail
  • DOT – Department of Transportation (of the USA) – US Department of Transportation
  • DWT – Dead Weight Tonnage – basic parameter determining the size of a ship and its carrying capacity
